The mission of the Gator Club® of Miami is to foster and enhance the relationship between the University of Florida, its alumni, students and friends in the City of Miami, its surrounding areas and to support the University’s mission of teaching, research and service. We look forward in working with you in achieving our mission.

If you are a University of Florida Alumni and are looking for exposure throughout Miami-Dade County as well as with the University, becoming aGator Club® of Miami board member is for you!

Becoming a volunteer board member gives you the opportunity to reconnect with Gators that you may have lost contact with along the way byassisting us in organizing some of our many events year round.

 

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following positions:

 

-    VP of Marketing                                                         –   Secretary

-    VP of Academics & Scholarship                           –    VP of Gator Gala

-    VP of Athletics (Gator Sports)                              –    VP of Young Alumni

-    VP of Community Outreach

You must be a current University of Florida Alumni Association (UFAA) member to be on the Board of Directors as well as commit your time for a full term [one year]. The 2015-2016 Term begins on July 1, 2015.

This year’s GCOM Scholarship selection was quite a success on many fronts. First, we’re excited to announce that we have 14 local winners, as well as a UF MBA scholarship recipient! The club increased total award funding allocations by 33% and also increased the total number of individual scholarships by 50%! On that note, GO GATORS! The winners were selected from the more than 50 on-time applications we received, and we had students apply from just about every corner of the county.

GCOM is here to strengthen the Gator Young Alumni connection to the Gator Nation and dedicate programs that would be of interest to young alumni, such as community service projects, career networking, travel opportunities and social activities.
